Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has withdrawn his 2023 presidential bid, a source told Newspeakonline.
Emefiele’s fwithdrawal came weeks after speculations were rife that he would contest the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary.
“CBN Governor has withdrawn from the presidential race and has communicated his intention to continue as CBN Governor,” the source said.
According to the source, Emefiele met with the apex bank’s executives on Friday and told them that he will stay on as governor.
