A coalition of pro – democracy groups, Coalition for a Better Nigeria, has warned against violence and malpractices in next Saturday’s governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi States.
A statement issued on Saturday by the National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Awa Bamiji, urged electorate in the three states to go out en-mass and cast their votes for the candidate of their choice without any fear.
He also enjoined hoodlums and those planning to rig the elections as well as the bad eggs among the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) staff and security agencies to steer clear of the three states during the elections because there would be no hiding place for them.
“We are master of the game when it comes to policing elections in Nigeria for three decades and counting. The usual gimmick, lies and propaganda of all the enemies of democracy will fail.A word is enough for the wise,” Awa added.
