The Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) commission has congratulated former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
In a congratulatory message posted on its Twitter handle on Wednesday, the commission described Fashola as a visionary leader whose influence transcends generations.
“Today, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of His Excellency, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, a visionary leader whose influence transcends generations. Throughout his illustrious political and public service career, he embodies the excellent spirit of Lagos.
“During his tenure as the Governor of Lagos State, spanning eight transformative years, Fashola built upon the strong foundations laid by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to revolutionize every socio-political and economic sector of the state, earning him the moniker of “The Actualizer.” His proactive response to the Ebola outbreak successfully mitigated the deadly impact of that disease, a testament to his vision and courage.
“As the Minister of Works and Housing, Fashola facilitated intricate developments in the crucial sectors, thereby paving the way for expanded economic opportunities for all Nigerians. He spearheaded the construction of over 100 roads and bridges across the country, leaving behind a legacy of over 13,000 kilometers of improved infrastructure.
“In the grand tradition of his esteemed predecessors in the South West region of Nigeria, BRF has carried the torch of excellence, consistently exhibiting unwavering commitment and loyalty to the greater good of our nation.
“Today, we remember his trademark public service refrain that the reward of hard work is more work. We therefore wish him many more years of impactful service to our country, particularly focusing on building infrastructure of the mind.
“As one of the founding governors of DAWN Commission, we celebrate an Omoluabi per excellence on his attainment of 60 impactful years on earth,” the message read.
