The Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa, Oyo State has been thrown into mourning following the discovery of the lifeless body of a National Diploma (ND) 2 Mass Communication student, identified as Dasola.
It was learnt that the deceased, who sat for an examination on Wednesday, was found in her room with matchet cuts and plucked eyes on Thursday.
Dasola was among those writing the ongoing first semester examination in the school. It was gathered that the late Dasola’s friend and coursemate, who did not see her during Thursday’s examination went to her house around Ile Idibo area and found her door locked from outside, suggesting that no one was inside the room.
However, some of her neighbours who are fellow students, perceived an offensive odour and decided to look around. When they peeped through her window, they found her lifeless body.
They reportedly raised an alarm which attracted attention of elders in the community.
It was gathered that the management of the school has been alerted and the ongoing examination has been suspended for a day as a mark of respect for the deceased.
Also, the incident has been reported at Eruwa Police Division. It was learnt that a team of policemen from the division has evacuated the corpse from the room and deposited the body the General Hospital, Eruwa.
Police have commenced investigation to unravel circumstances surrounding the incident and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
