The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has assured that he will work hard for Nigeria and sustain the hope of the downtrodden in the society.
Speaking at the grand finale of the APC presidential campaign rally in Lagos on Thursday, Tinubu said he will renew the hope of those who have lost faith in the country, adding “our manifesto would be pursued vigorously.”
Tinubu, who thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his support, explained how the president refused to pick his running mate for him.
“You set our foot on the part to the future, to work hard and achieve greatness because it is desirable for Nigeria to be great.
“You encouraged all of us to work hard; you celebrated my victory with me after primary. I came to you you to nominate the vice president for me just like I did for you in 2015, but you didn’t give me the same coin. You told me ‘you know them all, go and pick whoever you want to work with.’
“I assure you, as you have work hard for me, I will work hard for Nigeria,” Tinubu said.
The APC candidate also described his running mate, Sen Kashim Shettima, as a reliable, courageous and intelligent person.
“He showed perseverance, grit and determination in the face of Book Hararam challenge. He worked his ass out; he protected both Muslim and Christian faith,” he added.
The former Lagos State Governor charged residents of the state and Nigerians at large to troop out en masse on Saturday and cast their votes for him and all APC candidates.
Speaking, Buhari urged Nigerians to vote for Tinubu and APC, saying the former Lagos governor will build on his legacies.
In her remarks, the wife of the presidential candidate, Sen Oluremi Tinubu, assured that her husband’s administration will not let Nigerians down.
“You have known us for the past 23 years and I can assure you that my husband won’t let Nigerians down.
“This election is about the future of Nigeria and the legacies we want to leave for our children. Let us go out on Saturday and vote to secure the future of our children.
“Our hope will be renewed and Nigeria will rise again,” she said.
Also, the APC National Chairman, Sen Abdullahi Adamu, urged Nigerians to vote for Tuning, adding that he is the best among all the candidates to succeed Buhari.
