Julius Abure has been re-eleceted as national chairman of the Labour Party for a second term in office.
The chairman of the national convention and deputy governor of Abia State, Mr Ikechukwu Emetu, announced Abure as winner at the party’s national convention in Nnewi, Anambra State, on Wednesday.
He said Abure was re-elected with “unanimous support from delegates.”
The leadership of Labour Party has been engaged in a conflict with the leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress, led by Comrade Joe Ajaero.
The NLC had accused Abure of running Labour Party like a “sole administrator” and demanded his resignation.
