The Department of State Services(DSS) has filed fresh terrorism charges against the two detained aides of Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho.
The secret police filed the charges at the Federal High Court in Abuja after detaining the two aides for over two months.
In the suit dated August 31, 2021, the DSS through its lawyer S.M. Bello, filed five terrorism charges against Noah Oyetunji and Amudat Babatunde.
The DSS alleged that Oyetunji was in possession of fire arms for terrorism-related activities while Babatunde promoted terroristic acts through her Facebook account.
Reacting, counsel to the detainees, Pelumi Olajengbesi, said:“The charges are baseless, vexatious, shameful and without limbs.”
DSS had last week released 10 of the 12 associates of Igboho after over 60 days in detention.
The secret police had during the midnight of July 1 invaded Igboho’s Ibadan residence, arrested 12 of the activist’s allies and whisked them away to Abuja where they had been kept since.
