The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and incumbent governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has been declared the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in the 15 local government areas so far declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Sanwo-Olu has 718,595 votes after the collation of 15 local government results on Sunday.
The governor is ahead of Labour Party’s Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour who has garnered 257,502 votes from the results announced so far.
Olajide Adediran of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is thirdwith 59,172 votes.
In the presidential election three weeks ago, Labour Party’s Peter Obi polled 582,454 votes in Lagos to defeat the APC flag bearer, Bola Tinubu who scored 572,606 votes.
