A Nigeria Correctional Service truck conveying inmates to the Osun State High Court, Osogbo, on Thursday, hit a commercial minibus, injuring two persons in the process.
Eyewitnesses said the driver of the correctional service truck refused to obey a traffic light that had signaled him to stop at Olaiya junction of the state capital and in the process hit a minibus, leaving the driver and one of the passengers injured.
The incident sparked violent protest, as commercial motorcyclists and some angry youths blocked the popular Olaiya junction in protest.
It was gathered that police officers drafted to the scene dispersed the protesters with teargas.
