There was pandemonium in Ikere-Ekiti on Wednesday as armed robbers attacked some commercial banks, leaving many customers injured while the number of deaths is yet to be ascertained.
According to the videos posted on social media, gunshots boomed in the town as residents and passers-by scampered for safety.
The extent of damage done by the armed robbers to the banks could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
It was gathered that social and business activities in the town were paralysed for several hours as human and vehicular movements came to an abrupt end while the robbery was ongoing.
The residents said the robbers used dynamite to blow up the entrance of the banks and carted away unspecified amounts of money.
