The family of late Favour Daley-Oladele, the final year student of Lagos State University (LASU) killed by her boyfriend, has stated that an order from the Lagos State Ministry of Health stopped them from burying her remains at the Atan Cemetery on Tuesday.
It would be recalled that Favour was gruesomely murdered by her boyfriend, Owolabi Adeeko; his mother, identified simply as Mrs Adeeko and Segun Philip, the pastor of a white garment church in Ikoyi-Ile area of Osun State.
Owolabi and his accomplices had confessed to killing Favour after they were arrested by the police. They also confessed to have dismembered her corpse and used some vital parts of her body for money ritual.
Speaking at Atan Cemetery, an uncle of the deceased, Solomon Toyeme, said the family had mobilised to the state Ministry of Health to retrieve her corpse for burial, when they were told to suspend the arrangement pending the time the investigation would be concluded.
“An order from the Lagos State Ministry of Health instructed us not to go ahead with Favour’s burial today. We were told that some procedures need to be taken and that we need to stop the burial so that we won’t lose the case.
“The family has made the arrangement and were at the Lagos State Ministry of Health to retrieve her corpse for burial when we received the call,” Toyeme said.
