The Lagos-Ibadan railway will commence operations in December, Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, has said.
He spoke during an inspection tour of the rail project being handled by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).
Amaechi, who was accompanied by the Minister of State for Transportion, Sen. Gbemi Saraki and the Managing Director, Nigerian Railway Corporation, Fidelis Okhiria, said laying of rail tracks have been completed.
Amaechi revealed that redirecting petroleum pipelines along the construction zone was the most difficult part of the job, noting that the contractor had found a way to manage the situation so as not to shut down the country’s supply of fuel.
