A notorious and wanted leader of a dangerous gang in Ibadan, One Million Boys, Biola, popularly known as Ebila has been killed.
He was killed on Sunday by yet to be identified people. Unconfirmed reports said he was murdered around Olomi area of the city while his body was taken to the nearest police station.
Ebila had been declared wanted by the Oyo State Police Command for his alleged involvement in the murder of another gang leader popularly known as Ekugbemi on May 12. Sources said he went into hiding outside the state but returned on learning that former Commissioner of Police, Sina Olukolu had been redeployed.
Speaking on the incident, the Oyo State Police Command spokesperson, SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, confirmed his death but said he did not have details of who killed him and in what circumstance.
He said: “Not too long ago, a dead body was brought to Idi Aro Police Station in a wheel barrow by some men. Two of them were arrested. It can be confirmed that he has been killed but the details of who killed him are still sketchy now.
“Confirmation would come later. The DPO who was at the scene confirmed the body was that of Ebila. But we don’t know if it was a result of gang reprisal attack or that he was killed by security forces.”
