The management of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) has debunked a story making rounds that over 100 staff of the corporation have been sacked by the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
A statement signed by Adewale Tijani on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Mrs Dotun Olaitan which was made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Saturday, described the story as false and misleading in its entirety.
According to the statement, BCOS management like any other organisation has only requested all freelance and contract staff to re-apply and renew their appointments, as a matter of routine, within the space of one month.
“The management described the misleading report on mass sack as fabricated falsehood and a sponsored attempt to draw the good name of the governor into unnecessary and unwarranted controversy,” it said.
It urged the entire public to be wary of falsehood emanating from any quarters regarding the affairs of the corporation.
