The seemingly unending battle between the Oyo State Government and the sacked council officials over the N3.4 billion judgement debt may soon be a thing of the past as Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, have brokered a deal between the two parties.
Adelabu, it was learnt, paid a working visit to Governor Seyi Makinde in his office on Monday.
Adelabu was accompanied on the visit by former ALGON Chairman in Oyo State, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinlolye, Special Adviser to the Minister on Media and Publicity, Hon Bolaji Tunji, Hon Gbenga Olayemi, aka Ariba, and Chief Segun Olalere.
According to a source, on sighting Aleshinloye, Makinde jokingly said: “I can see Aleshinloye in this office. I know that he did not follow the Minister on this working visit, he only came here to remind me of their money.”
The source claimed that Adelabu’s intervention on the N3.4 billion judgement debt came during a closed door meeting between the minister and governor. It was gathered that Makinde promised to settle the judgement debt as soon as possible.
Before they went into the closed door meeting, some of the governor’s aides and members of the minister’s entourage were seen engaging in discussion and throwing banters at each other.
