The Nigeria Center for Disease Control(NCDC) has approved the Virology Laboratory, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan as sample collection centre of coronavirus for Oyo, Ogun and Kwara States.
Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde disclosed this via a series of posts on his twitter handle, while giving update on coronavirus situation in the state.
He said: “The diagnostic centre at the Virology Laboratory, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, is fully functional and has been approved by the @NCDCgov to be the collection centre for Oyo, Ogun and Kwara States.”
The governor added that a team from the World Health Organisation and NCDC visited the 100-bed Infectious Disease Centre at Olodo, and adjudged it to be 85 percent ready.
He stated that the state has received enquiries from individuals and private organisations about donating towards the state’s effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The governor thanked everyone who has been complying with the directives, regarding curfew and social distancing, adding “please, keep following the directives of the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force.”
