Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has said that Niger Delta militants were planning to disguise as Fulani herdsmen to attack people in Southern Kaduna.
El-Rufai who spoke during a media chat on Wednesday night in Kaduna, said he was aware politicians were sponsoring the incessant attacks in the zone and were benefitting from the crisis.
Meanwhile the state police command said it has commenced investigations into an attack on the governor.
Aggrieved youths in Kanfanchan pelted the convoy of el-Rufai with stones on Tuesday.
Some women who protested half naked also destroyed vehicles belonging to the governor after holding a meeting with him.
Agyole Abeh, the state’s Commissioner of Police, vowed that perpetrators of the heinous act would be brought to justice, and warned people of the state not to take the law into their hands.
Military formations coming to Southern Kaduna
During Wednesday’s media chat, Governor el-Rufai disclosed that plans were underway to establish two military formations in the Southern part as a way of ending the crisis, stressing that the state government got assurances of President Muhammadu Buhari, the Ministry of Defence and Chief of Army Staff on the request to site the military formations.
He said the proposed military formations would be in Fadan Karshi in Sanga and Kauru local government areas respectively to provide rapid response to acts of criminality.
