The ministerial nominee from Kaduna State, Abbas Lawal Balarabe, passed out while being screened by the Senate on Wednesday.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu had on Tuesday nominated Balarabe as the replacement for former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, after his nomination was rejected based on alleged security report.
The Senate went into an executive session immediately Balarabe collapsed as the nominee was wheeled out of the chamber.
Balarabe’s name was contained in a letter read by the Senate President, Godwill Akpabio, at the plenary on Tuesday.
His name was read alongside Dr Jamila Ibrahaim and Ayodele Olawande, who were earlier nominated as Minister of Youth and Minister of State for Youth by the president.
Balarabe, a former Secretary to Kaduna State government, was the head of a 65-man transition committee of Kaduna governor, Uba Sani.
The Senate had in August refused to confirm the nomination of El-Rufai alongside former NEXIM Bank Director, Stella Okotete (Delta State), and Abubakar Danlandi, a nominee from Taraba State.
