Grammy Award winner, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has became the first African artist to hit one billion streams on Audiomack.
Audiomack, a music streaming platform that allows creators to share unlimited music and podcast content for free, released a congratulatory message on Thursday via its Twitter handle, to celebrate the Nigerian’s feat.
“Congratulations, Burna Boy on becoming the first African Artist to hit 1 billion Audiomack streams,” the tweet read.
Recall that earlier this month, the music superstar made history by becoming the first African artist to headline a solo concert in a United Kingdom stadium. He sold out the 80,000-capacity London Stadium and performed his “Love Damini” album and some of his hit songs. The London Stadium management acknowledged his achievement on Twitter.
Burna Boy performed at the UEFA Champions League final kick-off show, following his sold-out concert at the London Stadium. He shared the stage with Brazilian pop star, Anitta, in Istanbul, Turkey, and performed songs like ‘Last Last’ and ‘It’s Plenty’.
