The NYSC management in a statement made available to Newspeakonline described the reports as false, baseless and unfounded.

NYSC said all corps members serving in all the Local Governments in the State or those who are currently in camp at Ikare-Akoko were safe, sound and healthy and urged the general public especially the parents and guardians not to panic.

The management also adviced the press and people to verify authenticity of any report before putting it out in order not to mislead the public.

“We wish to advise the members of the press and other related agencies to avail themselves the friendly disposition of the state coordinator to verify the authenticity of any report before putting such in public domain so as not to mislead the general public and other stakeholders of the noble scheme.

“The contact telephone number of the state coordinator is in the public domain and members of the press can always call to seek clarification,” the statement said.

The NYSC Management further stated that it  has put necessary machinery and effective measures in place to safeguard at all times the lives and properties of the corps members  serving in the state.
