The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has stated that Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium is ready to host the National Sports Festival (NSF), scheduled to kickoff on March, 22, in Benin City, Edo State.
The minister disclosed this during his visit to the sports complex on Tuesday.
He said: “I am impressed with what I have seen here at the Samuel Ogbemudia sports complex, it shows clearly that there has been consistent work going on here.
“There has been commitment on the part of his excellency and also the deputy governor to make sure that this place is finished in record time.
“I have seen progress and I can say this stadium is about 85 percent or 90 percent ready for the National Sports Festival.”
Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, also reassured the minister that the stadium will be completely ready by the first week of March.
Delta State emerged as the overall winner at the last edition which took place in Abuja. The event is scheduled to hold between March 22 to April 1, 2020.
