The Chairman, Oyo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Pastor Akin Alamu, on Thursday disclosed that 90,000 applicants have been captured in the ongoing recruitment exercise for teaching and non-teaching staff, noting that they would be invited for the Computer Based Test (CBT) in August.
He stated this while speaking on a radio programme, COVID-19 situation room, on Fresh 105.9FM, Ibadan.
Alamu said out of the 90,000 applicants captured, only 9,000 would be employed. He stated that out of the 9,000, 7000 will be for teaching staff, while the remaining 2,000 is for non-teaching staff.
The TESCOM chairman also revealed that Oyo State indigenes would be given more consideration, but added that indigenes of other states will also be considered due to the cosmopolitan status of the state.
When asked about the cut off mark for the applicants, Alamu explained that it is the score of the applicants that will determine the cut off mark.
He said successful applicants would be invited immediately for interview, so that the successful applicants can resume when the new school academic calendar start in September.
