Members of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in Oyo State, on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to family of late Chief Samuel Akindele, who was until his death last week, the Oyo State Senatorial District(Central) Chairman of the party.
The association’s chairman, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, accompanied by some chairmen, led the ALGON team on the visit.
Abass-Aleshinloye decribed the deceased as a great leader and highly resourceful politician who demonstrated great love and passion for the development of his people.
He said the late party leader believed in democratic principles, worked assiduously to advance them and ensured the will of the people triumphed.
While signing the condolence register, Abass-Aleshinloye, said: “On behalf of ALGON, Oyo State, Leader,you came, you saw and you conquered. APC family will miss you so dearly. Continue to rest in peace, Daddy.”
The team also visited the family of late Chief Samuel Farinu, a former state chairman of the party, who also passed on last week.
Abass-Aleshinloye described the late Farinu as a leader that played his part well while on stage, by resolutely fighting for the unity of the country.
“Even while we mourn the loss of this revered politician, we are also inspired to celebrate his remarkable life and accomplishments,” the ALGON boss said.
Those who accompanied the chairman include Hon. Sakiru Fagunwa, Ibadan South LCDA; Hon. Wahab Oladejo, Ido Local Government; Hon Olumide Alli, Akinyele South LCDA, among others.
