The Industrial crisis in Oyo State has taken a more complicated twist. Workers in the state have decided to embark on an indefinite strike today, Tuesday, June 7 over the planned privatization of public schools in the state.
The decision was reached by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) after days of protests against the new education initiative of the state government to run a public private partnership for the education sector.
On Monday, Ibadan was shut down by secondary school pupils who barricaded the roads and attacked the secretariat of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Oke Ado, Ibadan.
Labour leaders in the state were last week arrested and taken to court for leading a protest and disrupting a stakeholders meeting last Wednesday.
