Wadata Plaza, Abuja, national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been sealed to forestall any break down of law and order over the confusion that emanated on Saturday.
The crisis in the party deepened on Saturday when the party held two conventions by two different factions.
Senator Ibrahim Mantu, of the faction led by former Minister of Information, Jerry Gana emerged interim national chairman in a less recognised parallel convention held in Abuja while Senator Ahmed Makarfi emerged national chairman of a caretaker committee set up to organise elections in the next 90 days.
Makarfi was appointed by PDP governors and National Assembly members after embattled Ali Modu Sherrif was unceremonoiusly removed.
