In order to increase food production in his constituency, the lawmaker representing Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Akin Alabi, partnered with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to launch an empowerment programme for farmers.
The ministry, through the empowerment programme, distributed quality seedlings to 100 farmers in Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency.
Seedlings like maize, rice, pea, cocoa and other cash crops were distributed to the farmers, who were also trained on dry season farming and storage.
Speaking, Hon Alabi declared that the beneficiaries will also get cash grant to boost their farming business.
The lawmaker thanked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for their commitment to the Federal Government’s agriculture road map and encouraged more of the programme in other constituencies across the country.
He also promised to continue to do his best for his constituents, adding that if voted for a second term in office, his constituents will enjoy more dividends of democracy.
