Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has retired from football following his release from Queens Park Rangers.
The former England International who lost his wife Rebecca Ellison to Cancer on Saturday, May 2, 2015, made the announcement on BT Sport on Saturday, May 30, 2015, before taking to Twitter to thank his fans and well wishers for their support during his playing days.
Rio Ferdinand who made 81 appearances and scored 3 goals for England, also made 514 appearances and scored 11 goals for Manchester United, Queens Park Rangers, Leed United, Bournemouth and West Ham United.
