The Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Prof. Abel Olayinka, has felicitated with the Nigerian Muslims, particularly, the Univesity of Ibadan Muslim community, on the successful completion of this year’s rigorous thirty-day of prayer, self-denial and charity-giving.
Olayinka urged faithful not to lose sight of the lessons of the Ramadan fast which is in fulfillment of Allah’s injunction.
In a statement by the University’s Director of Public Communication, Mr. ‘Tunji Oladejo, the VC enjoined Muslims to use the lessons of the Ramadan “to modify our personalities and character in order to promote harmony, peace and love across all religions, tribes and nations.”
The VC commended the Muslims in the university for their continuous contributions to the sustainable development of the premier institution, maintaining peace and sustaining peaceful co-existence with their neighbours as well as people of other religious persuasions.
“Nigeria has a lot to offer the world with its enormous human and material resources if we decide to relate with one another with compassion, selflessness and sincerity to harness our full potentials.” He said.m
