Serving senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, lost his polling unit to Uba Sani, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s election.
The APC candidate enjoys the support of Governor Nasir el-Rufai who backed him to pick the ticket of the ruling party.
While the APC candidate scored 236 votes, the senator who ran on the platform of Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) got 56 votes at unit 20, Ungwar Seriki ward, in Kaduna north local government area.
Shehu Sani had resigned from the APC after losing the party’s ticket for his second term at the senate.
