The stage is set for the 8th annual prestigious Significance Africa Awards, known for its glamorous parade of the best of Africa in business, politics, entertainment and national/community leaderships.
The awards has been fixed for March 25, 2022.
For the 8th Edition, the awards is set to raise the bar again with the introduction of two new categories, namely Family Business Award and Tourism Hero Award.
Speaking on the awards, the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Yemi Bakare, noted that the press briefing was borne out of the recent partnership with some other media firms to jointly propagate the 8th edition of the awards.
According to Bakare, the awards will be different from what it used to be.
“It is our 8th anniversary and we are ready and keen to make everyone proud beyond the previous editions.
“We are holding this year’s edition in March as usual! Venue is Radisson Blu, Ikeja, Lagos Nigeria,” he said.
Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman BUA Group; Dr. Richardson Ajayi; Allen Onyema; Governor Seyi Makinde; Chief (Mrs.) Stella Okoli; and Comrade Adewole Adeyanju have emerged top nominees in the 8th edition of the awards.
Awards summit will be anchored by Niyi Akinsiju, while the lead speaker is Prof. P.L.O Lumumba.
The theme for this year’s edition is, ‘Interrogating Dimensions, Prospects, and Challenges of the African Economy in The Post COVID Era.’
“Also, we wish to state that this event, coming after two years since the global pandemic (COVID-19), will be unique with top media hype, and paparazzi,” Bakare said.
He, however, noted that all COVID -19 protocols will be observed.
