The Secretariat of the Nigeria Football Federation in Abuja has been taken over by soldiers and riot policemen who, since Friday, have been preventing entry into the complex.
The complex, popularly known as Glass House, also houses the Federal Road Safety Commission. So, only properly identified FRSC staff are allowed in.
Sources said the security men must have been deployed to the Glass House by the Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung. This development comes after a court order obtained on Thursday by the Proprietor of Giwa FC, Chris Giwa, who is laying claim to the presidency of the NFF.
Giwa on Sunday announced new members for the Board of the NFF.
He had vowed on Friday that he would resume at the Glass House on Monday but he Amaju Pinnick-led faction has filed for a stay of execution of the court order.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police who led the security personnel, Mr. Jonah Bitrus, however stated on Sunday that, they are working on instructions from the office of the Inspector General of Police to protect the football house from some usurpers parading themselves as rightful occupants of the Glass House.
