Former Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, has confirmed the death of his wife, Kate explaining that she died Wednesday night after a brief illness. She was 54 years old.
He told Complete Sports: “She was ill for a while now and I’m still in shock of this great loss,” Keshi said. “She is more like a sister to me and was the rock behind me and everything I do. My love for her was at first sight.”
Kate was 54 years old.
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has commiserated with the “big boss”.
A statement on the federation’s website, said that Amaju Pinnick, president of the federation, had a lengthy phone conversation with Keshi on Thursday.
The statement said: “Keshi is a Nigerian hero and we mourn deeply with him at this time. This has come like a big blow, but we pray that he receives divine strength to cope with the situation, and we also pray that the Almighty God will grant the departed eternal rest”.
