A number of Nollywood movies has started trending on Netflix following the move by Nigerian movie producers to gain additional online exposure for their works.

Orisabunmi didn’t die of COVID-19- Nephew

 Netflix, a United States-based over-the-top content platform and production company, is gaining more popularity among Nigerian movie freaks and a lot of Nollywood movies have been rated top on the platform.

Here are the three top Nigerian movies trending on Netflix.

1. Citation. This is a movie directed by Kunle Afolayan. The movie is about a bright student in Nigeria who reports a professor who tried to rape her. Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire oil magnate, Femi Otedola is the lead cast in the movie. She plays the role alongside Jimmy Jean-Louis and Joke Silva. 

2. Oloture. This is a movie about a journalist who goes undercover as a prostitute to expose human trafficking. Directed by Kenneth Gyang, Sharon Ooja starred as the lead actress. 

3. Sugar Rush. Three sisters discover a huge sum of money and spend it until the authority and a shady mob boss come to collect the cash. Kayode Kasum directed the movie, it starred Adesua Etomi, Bisola Aiyeola and Bimbo Ademoye.

 Netflix  is an American  over-the-top content platform and production company headquartered in Los Gaston, California. It was founded in 1997 by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph in Scotts Valley, California. The company’s primary business is a subscription-based streaming service offering online streaming from a library of films and television series, including those produced in-house.
