Some students of University of Lagos (UNILAG) took to the streets of the Lagos on Friday to protest against the killing of a medical doctor said to be working with the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Dr Stephen Urueye, has been reported killed by armed thugs at Idi Araba area of the state.
It was learnt that the victim was one of the UNILAG graduates who participated in the school’s convocation held on Wednesday in Akoka.
Newspeakonline gathered that Urueye died on Friday morning at the emergency wing of LUTH where doctors battled to save him after the attack on Thursday night.
The students said the peaceful protest was to call government’s attention to the dangers students were exposed to in Idi-Araba which has allegedly been taken over by armed thugs.
The Lagos State Police Command has yet to confirm the incident.
