Preparation is now in top gear as the Yoruba Patriots’ Movement and Coalition of Civil Society Organisations hold the South West summit on Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
The summit, titled, ‘A call for military takeover by opposition: it’s time for democrats to stand and defend democracy,’ will also deliberate on topical issues.
A statement signed by the Convener, Barrister Oladosu Oladipo, and Secretary, Comrade Awa Bamiji, said erudite scholar, Emeritus Prof Olu Aina, will deliver the summit’s lecture.
According to the statement, the discussants are Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I, Oluwo of Iwo land; Oba Saheed Elegushi, Elegushi of Ikate land, Lagos State; Oba Gbolahan Lawal, Oniru of Iru land, Lagos State; Hon Bayo Aina, Secretary, Yoruba Leaders of Thought, Ekiti State, and Chief Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho.
“Chairman of occasion is General Alani Akinrinade (Rtd), while Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Pius Akinyelure and Aremo Olusegun Osoba are the fathers of the day. Mother of the day is Prof (Mrs) Bolanle Awe.
“The Special Guest of Honour is Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady, Federal Republic of Nigeria, while Guests of Honour are South West States’ Governors and Ministers. The Special Guests are South West Senators, House of Representatives members from the South West and Honourable Speakers of the South West States.
“Royal fathers of the day are Imperial Majesties, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, Ooni of Ife; Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III, Alake of Egba land; Oba (Dr) Mahud Olalekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, Olubadan of Ibadan land; Oba Rilwan Akiolu I, Oba of Lagos; Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, Deji of Akure and Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejuigbe, Ewi of Ado -Ekiti,” the statement said.
The event will hold on Monday, March 11, 2024 at International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, by 10am.
