Presidential election results for Kogi State announced on Monday showed that Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress beat President Goodluck Jonathan of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), polling 60.3% of the votes cast.
According to results announced by the State Collation Officer, Prof. Adikwu Michael, who is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, out of 439,287 votes cast, Gen. Buhari polled 264,851 while Jonathan had 149,987 votes.
Buhari won in 15 of the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
APC won with high margins in most of the LGAs with Okene, Lokoja, Adavi, Kogi-Koton Karfe and Okehi accounting for the highest margins.
