Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has said he has recovered from COVID-19, after spending 11 days in isolation.
In a tweet on Saturday, Fayemi said a subsequent COVID-19 test he took came back negative.
While thanking God, well wishers and his medical team for his recovery, the governor called for more efforts to tackle the pandemic.
“After 11 days in isolation, I received news that my COVID-19 repeat test came back negative.
“My sincere gratitude goes to God Almighty, my family, my medical team and all well wishers for the prayers and solidarity. We must continue to do all we can to tackle the pandemic. JKF,” he said.
On July 22, Fayemi, who is the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), announced that he had contracted the virus for the second time.
