Josephine Ugwu, who works for Patovilki Cleaning Services, a company engaged by Federal Airport Authourity of Nigeria (FAAN) to keep Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos clean, has been rewarded with a sum of N7,200 salary increment for returning N12 million found in a toilet in the airport.
But her colleagues are angry at the paltry reward. According to them, it was a big shame that the Nigerian Government could not give Ugwu a better reward for her noble gesture in order to encourage other Nigerians.
A colleague said Ugwu had even been branded a fool for returning the N12milion in the first place because afterall, she has gotten no commensurate reward for her honesty.
Ugwu a National Diploma graduate of Our Saviour Institute of Science, Agriculture and Technology, Enugu was earning N7,800 before the latest increment which jacked it up to N15,000.
