Commonwealth champion Blessing Okagbare disappointed Nigerians today again at the World Athletics Championship taking place in Beijing, China.
Okagbare who won gold in the 100m and 200m at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow last year, did not show up the 200m race where she was expected to make amends for Monday’s disasterious outing when she finished last in the 100m final, which was won by Jamaica’a Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.
Okagbare, who is also scheduled to compete in the women’s long jump tomorrow, was due to race in the third heat of the 200m Wednesday afternoon, but failed to show up.
It is yet to be ascertained why she withdraw at the last minute because “She was on warm-up track” Yomi Omogbeja, publisher of athleticsafrica.com, tweeted from Beijing.
