The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that it will commence the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for interested aspirants in the Ondo State governorship primary election on April 3.
This was disclosed in a statement posted on the party’s official X handle by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu.
Argungu said the sale of forms will end on April 10, adding that the governorship primary would be held on April 25, while the primary election appeal to attend to complaints and contestation would hold on April 26.
Screening of aspirants and publication of screening results will hold on April 20, while screening appeal will hold on April 21.
According to the National Organising Secretary, the position taken by the party was in compliance with the Electoral Act 2022 as amended and relevant sections of the Constitution.
“In compliance with the relevant sections of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Electoral Act 2022, the APC hereby makes public its timetable and schedule of activities leading to the 16th November, 2024 gubernatorial election in Ondo State as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC,” he said.
Meanwhile, the ruling party has pegged the Expression of Interest form at N10 million, while the Nomination form goes for N40 million.
However, female aspirants and persons with disabilities are given a concession to only procure the expression of interest form while the nomination form is free.
“Youths from 25 to 40 years are to purchase Expression of Interest forms with a 50% discount on Nomination Forms,” the statement added.
