American actor and model, Boris Kodjoe has written a touching letter to his daughter, Sophie Tei-Naaki Lee Kodjoe on her 10th birthday which is today March 5.
Sophie is suffering from a birth defect called Spina bifida which occurs when a baby’s spine fails to close during the first month of pregnancy, resulting in nerve and muscle damage that ranges from mild to extreme.
It is estimated that neural tube birth defects like spina bifida occur in seven out of every 10,000 live births in the U.S., according to the Spina Bifida Association.
