President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Usman Alkali Baba, as the new acting Inspector General of Police (IGP).
Minister of Police Affair, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, broke the news to State House correspondents at the presidential villa, Abuja, on Tuesday.
According to the minister, the appointment takes immediate effect.
Buhari had on February 4, 2021 extended the tenure of Mohammed Adamu as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for three months.
Adamu has spent two months and three days out of the 90-day extension.
