Former world Heavy Weight Boxing Champion, Evander Holyfield has promised to donate $3 million worth of health equipment to Lagos state.
He made the pledge during a courtesy visit to the Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
TVC News correspondent, Kareemot Salami, reports that Holyfield is also set to establish his foundation, Holyfield Foundation, in Lagos.
The former boxing champion said it is a big opportunity for him to give back what has been given to him by the society.
Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode expressed excitement that his visit is coming at a time the state is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary.
Special adviser to the governor on Sports, Deji Tinubu, stated that one of the key priorities of governor Akinwunmi Ambode is to make lagos a sports hub in Africa.
He said Holyfield has been able to set a good record in the ring and off the ring.
Being a former world champion, Holyfield is optimistic that the establishment of the foundation in Lagos will be a success as more youths will believe him and believe in themselves as potential world beaters.
