With just few hours to the All Progressives Congress(APC) national convention, a former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuff, has resigned from the ruling party.
Yusuff contested for the governorship ticket of the APC in Osun State during the primary held on the February 19.
The former deputy speaker reportedly submitted his resignation letter at the party’s state secretariat in Osogbo, on Friday.
However, Kola Olabisi, the media aide to Osun State APC chairman, Gboyega Famodun, said the chairman was unaware of Yusuff’s resignation.
We are in Abuja. The chairman has not been informed that he (Yusuff) has resigned from APC,” he said.
Yusuff, according to The PUNCH, has confirmed his resignation from the ruling party.
“Thanks for the enquiry. It is true. I have left APC. That is all I want to say for now,” the medium quoted him to have said.
