A former Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Sani Toro, has faulted the decision of Sports Minister Solomon Dalung to hoild a peace meeting between the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, and Club Owner, Chris Giwa.
Recall that the meeting which took place in Abuja on Wednesday ended in chaos as the two men almost threw punches when tempers rose between the warring parties.
In Toro’s view, the meeting was unnecessary and the minister’s insistence to have another one on Tuesday is uncalled for.
Toro said:
“He should study the situation and I believe with proper briefing and good intentions, solving the problem won’t be a big issue.
“We faced similar issue in my time at the NFF but it was tactically dealt with. Calling both parties together will only add to the crisis.
“Many of us felt the issue was dead because it went as far as CAS but the current situation came as a shock to all of us.”
Dalung has picked Tuesday as date for yet another round of meeting.
