Less than 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu relieved all the five Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of aviation agencies of their duties, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has also sacked all the directors in the parastatals.
A statement by Oluseyi Odutayo, the Head of Public Affairs in the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, said that the shake up is aimed at repositioning the aviation industry and ensure safety and efficient air travel experience of Nigerians.
Keyamo said the removal of the directors was with immediate effect and directed them to hand over to the most senior officer in their various directorates.
The directors of the agencies affected are Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMET), Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Nigeria Safety and Investigation Bureau (NSIB).
“I am also to inform all the agencies’ Board Secretaries and Legal Advisers that they are not affected by this directive.
“All affected DIRECTORS are to ensure strict compliance, please,” the statement added.
