Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has appointed Edison Ehie as his chief of staff.
Commissioner for Information and Communications, Joseph Johnson, disclosed this in a statement, on Monday.
Johnson said Ehie and five other special advisers would be sworn in by the governor on Monday morning.
Ehie, an ally of Fubara, was elected Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly in October by the faction loyal to Fubara after he was removed as the House Leader following the political crisis that erupted in the state.
Ehie, who represented Ahoada East Constituency II, later resigned as a member of the assembly in December.
