A Federal High Court sitting in Gusau, Zamfara State, has again nullified the governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which produced Dauda Lawal-Dare.
The presiding judge, Justice Aminu Bappa, who gave the ruling on Tuesday, also ruled that the party will not field any candidate for the 2023 governorship election.
The court had in September 2022 nullified the party’s governorship primary election that produced Lawal-Dare for some irregularities in the delegates list.
The party conducted fresh elections in October, which Lawal-Dare also won with over 400 votes.
However, one of the contestants, Shehu Bakaoye, rejected the result of the governorship primary election and approached the court.
It was also learnt that there were discrepancies in the documents Lawal-Dare submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
