Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor Nyesom Wike, are currently attending the meeting of the Police Council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Wike and Fubara shook hands before the commencement of the ongoing meeting at the villa.
The Police Council is a constitutional body that oversees the organisation and administration of the Nigeria Police Force. The Council is chaired by President Bola Tinubu.
The governor of the 36 states of the federation, chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Inspector-General of Police and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister are members of the council.
The last time the Police Council meeting held was on June 4, 2021.
