Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has nominated Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, as a commissioner/special adviser.
Igbokwe courted controversy on Monday after saying on Channels TV Politics Today that anyone who says President Muhammadu Buhari was under-performing was a liar from the pit of hell.
A statement signed by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, said Sanwo-Olu transmitted the final list of his nominees to the state House of Assembly on Tuesday.
The governor sent the first batch of the list to the lawmakers for screening four weeks ago. Thirteen nominees made the new second list.
According to Akosile, the second list had names of accomplished politicians and technocrats who “understand the current need of Lagos” and the development agenda of the Governor.
